Photographer Ambitions

Oh boy! I need to build up a portfolio one of these days so that I can make a small business out of my photography. I really love and enjoy doing it, so why not! Only thing is....  I fear that I may be too young and not skilled enough. I mean think about it, who would hire a 16 year old amateur photographer to do a portrait session of some sort, and be willing to pay $$ for it? How should I go about this whole thing? Should I begin with doing it for free at first, or not? If anyone knows of a good article or any tips on starting a photography business, I'd very much appreciate it. :) Thank you!

Anyhoo, these are some of the photos I took from a photography challenge I've been doing recently on Facebook. I prefer taking portraits and I also like nature photography, but these pics are good as well. I hope you enjoy them! :)

These pictures are all edited on my Mom's iPad using Snapseed app. However, I'm seriously thinking about considering getting Lightroom to use instead of Snapseed or Photoshop. Do any of my fellow photographer friends out there know what it is and/ or at lest own it so you can to tell me what you think of it? If so, let me know!

God Bless!

P.S. I plan on totally changing the look of my blog later on.

  1. Hey Caley! I'm not sure if you remember me :) I'm Rylie Van Wingerden (how many Van Wingerdens do you know?) I LOVE photography :D I was sitting next to my mom while she was on facebook and saw the link to your blog. So here I am :) I don't have lightroom, or photoshop, but if you want something to have fun with, I recommend playing around with PicMonkey. Sadly, they started making you pay a little money to use all their amazing things, but there are still quite a few things you can do... I really want to get lightroom too, sad thing is, it's not the cheapest :) Hope I can talk to you again!!
